Elizabeth Proctor
English and Humanities Teacher
Elizabeth Proctor teaches sixth grade Humanities and English and serves as the sixth grade Head and joined the faculty at Heronfield Academy in the fall of 2023. Prior to teaching at Heronfield, Elizabeth taught middle school history and English and high school history. As an educator, Elizabeth wants her students to feel like they are a part of a global community, both past and present, through their academic experiences.
Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology, with minors in Art History and Medieval and Renaissance Studies, from the University of Maine. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Archaeology, with concentrations in Politics and Complexity and Mediterranean and Near East Archaeology, from Cornell University. As an archaeologist, Elizabeth has worked and volunteered on excavations in Croatia, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. In 2024, Elizabeth attended the National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institute, “The Ancient Olympics and Daily Life in Ancient Olympia: A Hands-On History” at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois.
When she is not at school, Elizabeth can be found working on boats, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
