Nicole Miller
Drama Teacher
Nicole comes to Heronfield following over 20 years as a full-time upper elementary and middle school teacher in NY, CA, HI and abroad in England, teaching ELA, humanities, performing arts, and social emotional learning. She served as SEL Coordinator at East Woods School in New York, where she developed and taught an advisory and wellness curriculum for students, and offered workshops for teachers and parents. She has 13 years experience teaching literature, world mythology, classics, and humanities at the college and university level and is currently leading PD workshops at UNH as a mentor teacher. After earning a Masters in Education, she earned a PhD in Myth Studies and Depth Psychology, an interdisciplinary degree in myth, literature, religion, philosophy, and Jungian psychology. Nicole has taught drama and directed all-school musicals at numerous schools and summer programs over the years, and directed community theater productions in Hawai’i at Waimea Community Theatre, where she came to realize that she was definitely a far better director than she was an actor! Outside of her time at HA, Nicole presents workshops and speaks at conferences nationally and internationally and has a private coaching and consultancy practice, working with individuals and organizations in using narrative thinking and mindfulness to break through the places we all get stuck. Nicole now resides in Exeter, NH, and is thrilled to be part of the Heronfield Academy community!
